Ed Brown, Edvisory President and CEO

Edvisory President and CEO C. Edward Brown is a listener—a gatherer of opinions and perspectives. He delivers his knowledge in a straightforward, advisory and counselor approach that is easily understood by all constituents. And he will help evaluate his recommendations over time and modify initiatives if the facts necessitate.

Ed has more than 35 years of experience in executive and senior levels of healthcare management. He is currently Chief Development Officer and Partner at OnPoint Healthcare Partners, Inc., the leading healthcare solutions provider in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and clinical expertise.

Prior to forming Edvisory and OnPoint, Ed was the Chief Executive Officer of The Iowa Clinic, P.C. and The Iowa Clinic Management Company, LLC, for 26 years. The Iowa Clinic is a multi-specialty medical group with more than 240 physicians and other providers in Des Moines and Central Iowa. Under Ed’s leadership, The Iowa Clinic saw revenue grow from $47 million to $250+ million, multiple clinical advancements, development of a Physician Leadership Institute, and became one of the nation’s premier Accountable Care Organizations with multiple technological innovations.

Ed has served as a counselor and an advisor to colleagues and entities throughout the country. Through Edvisory Healthcare Ventures, he provides consulting services and public speaking to organizations across the country.

Ed remains active in national healthcare leadership and public policy, and he currently serves on numerous business, community and charitable boards. He’s a Past-Chair of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) and chaired and participated in AMGA’s public policy efforts for many years. Ed is also a Fellow of The American College of Healthcare Executives.

Ed is a graduate of the University of Evansville, with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and an emphasis in Business. He continued his education and received his Master’s in Health Administration at Washington University, St. Louis. He currently serves on the University of Evansville’s Board of Directors and has been active with the university for more than 10 years.

“I would describe Ed as a leader among leaders. He’s one to whom other physician group CEOs look for advice and insights.

Ed’s ability to plan and articulate a strategic endeavor within a framework that’s practical—and just plain good business—really sets him apart.”
